SU Advice will be holding the student Housing Fair on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th of January 2019 in the Atrium between 11:00 – 15:00. For more on SU Advice visit here.
At the Fair, there will be many Landlords and Lettings Agencies for you to talk to about your plans to move out into your own rental accommodation. This year, we will be inviting more organisations than previous years to give you better choices about where to live and who to rent from.
Our advice is still WAIT!
All landlords and Lettings Agents have agreed to wait 1 week before contacting you if you give them your contact details. We will also be having a specialist stall called “Ask a Landlord”, where an experienced landlord (Alan Gray) will be available to answer some of the questions you may have in an impartial way. Alan will also be free to advise you on matters that some landlords/lettings agencies don’t want you to know, known as “Alan’s Top Tips”.
We will also be giving out information on our online campaigns about information you need to know, and how to avoid some of the common pitfalls that students can fall into when renting a property. SUAdvice will be having a stall to answer questions you may have about all aspects of deciding to move into rental property, advice on living there, and where to get help if things start going badly.
Please note: the Students’ Union does not recommend or endorse specific landlords and lettings agents.
