Boxing a relatively new addition to LTSU's sports programme. This new student club was formed this year and currently runs mixed intro sessions to boxing on Monday nights 8-9:30pm in the Gymnasium on Campus.
Additionally, the SU will continue to support individual athletes who enter national BUCS competition weekends. This years event detials are below. If you would like to compete you are required to contact the Students' Union Sports Cooridinator. Due to the extreme nature of this sport you must be passed as fit to compete by a registered boxing club or registered coach. The SU currently has student athletes training with various local gyms with proffesional coaches.
OTHER INFO: To compete you require a valid Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) medical card, AIBA competition head guards and hand bandages and a fitted mouth guard (excluding red).
Competition gloves will be provided by BUCS for all competitors. BUCS Boxing competitions will be governed in accordance with the rules and regulations of the International Boxing Association (AIBA). The Official in Charge of the competition will follow the AIBA Open Boxing (AOB) Competition Rules.
Training days & time: Monday 8:00-9.30pm
