The Women’s officer works to represent all students who identify as women here at Leeds Trinity University. They work throughout the year on a variety of projects and they also have involvement in our events for International Women’s Day.
"Hi my name is Kelsey, I’m a philosophy, religion and ethics student In my second year. I believe I’m a great candidate for women’s officer because I don’t give up, I won’t stop until changes are made in university to benefit all women around me.
I’ve various idea that I want to implement in university which I will state below:
1. I want all students to feel they are safe on and off campus. Self protection is important and for this reason I want self defence classes for women. I also hope to provide bottle stoppers (spikey anti)to make sure that we can feel safe on nights out.
2. I want increased awareness for different issues faced by women in our society whether that be through sexuality, body image or even gender identity. To face these issues I want to show a United stance between all women through a women take back the night. Where societies and clubs hopefully including those from other universities change there social to on Wednesday we wear pink for one night.
3. As a university we can raise money for various charities including those that support issue like PCOS and endometriosis. This can happen through charity invents with help of competition between our clubs and societies
These are just some of the points I hope to enforce if elected as women’s officer. I hope these points resonate with you and you vote me 1st in women’s officer."
