Leeds Trinity Students’ Union is a charity and those responsible for it are known as Trustees.
There are three types of trustees at LTSU.
Role of a Trustee
As a Trustee you are responsible for the overall running of the charity, including setting the budget, strategy and governance of the organisation. The role is for an initial two-year term (or until the completion of your studies, whichever is sooner). You will be provided with training and support to be effective in the role. You are responsible for fully understanding the Constitution and Bye-laws of the Students’ Union. You will have an awareness of the day to day activities of the organisation and provide sound assistance to the organisation through your role. You’ll make the Board aware of any potential conflicts of interest and prepare for and attend board meetings.
Benefits of being a Trustee
You will get to make a difference to over 3000 other students’ lives at Leeds Trinity University ensuring the organization supports students to reach their potential and continues to be high performing. You will be provided with training on being a trustee, be invited to major student engagement and celebration events across the year and to an annual trustee development session that will focus on developing both the Board and the organisation.
The Board typically meet 5/6 times a year usually on an early evening from around 6pm and a development day on a Saturday. This is an unpaid voluntary role, but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
