BAME Student Voice

I (Chelsey) aim to improve BAME representation and experience on campus.

What I am doing?

1. I will be work alongside the University on the REC (Race Equality Charter) by attending regular committee meetings. At which I am able to relay student feedback and take away points for discussion for the Student Council and Trustee board. I want to make BAME representation a key focus at the very top leadership level of our charity.

2. I will also be looking into a project around decolonising the curriculum. Ultimately increasing the number of texts used in Lectures & reading lists by people of colour.

3. I will be proposing a 'Student Say' topic that will look into current grants available for refugees.
