Hi, my name is Aleksandra! I study Psychology and Criminology at level 5 and I’m currently running for a student council position as a sustainability officer because of my passion and a real interest in this area and would love to expand on some campaigns such as “stop single-use plastics”.
I would make an ideal candidate because of the recent contribution to the green week, where I helped plan and brainstorm different sustainable ideas for the week. I have recently passed my first sustainability student say which already shows my engagement.
If elected I would aim:
Objective 1
Creating refill areas in the SU shop with things such as pasta, rice, sugar etc in order to reduce single-use plastics on campus and aiming to ban them and go green.
Objective 2
I would like to create recycling stations with things difficult to recycle, such as make-up, batteries, clothing etc. and hopefully expanding the bottle cap station.
Objective 3
Creating a sustainable society where all students can participate in creating our university sustainable and the areas around our campus. You can expect fun activities such as field trips where we are litter picking, have fun sustainable workshops e.g., planting
Objective 4
To tackle issues with overflowing bins on campus.
I think these aims will bring a positive impact on campus!
Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to get in contact with me to ask any questions about the ideas by contacting me at 1904649@leedstrinity.ac.uk
