Black History Month

It's Black History Month! The annual celebration of the history, contributions and achievements of the black people in the UK.

It has now grown into a worldwide celebration where people appreciate and commemorate the accomplishments from those of African and Carribean descent.

Celebrations are happening all over the country with festivals, music, food and so much more.

Here at the Students' Union, we too are celebrating Black History Month and have lined up events throughout October. This includes our very own food function, movie evening and lots more activities.

The Students' Union celebrates Black History Month;

Tuesday 8th Oct: A display of BAME background inspirational characters. Atrium, 11:00 am.

Thursday 17th Oct: Afro Caribbean foo, StUdio, 1:00pm

Thursday 24th Oct: Movie "Django Unchained" AG55, 3:00pm

Tuesday 29th Oct: Discussion "What does Black History Month mean to you?" Atrium.
