One level of study that can often be forgotten about when it comes to the SU and that is currently underrepresented is the PGR community (Masters by Research and PhD students). This is an area that LTU wants to expand into in more depth and therefore now would seem like a good time to ensure that these students are properly represented in the Union. In order to do this, I propose that we add an extra officer to the Student Council whose specific role is PGRs.
The Postgraduate officer could be seen as already filling this role, however, the life of a postgraduate student on a taught cause is very different to the life of a student on a research degree. Therefore, I believe this should be reflected in the officer roles available.
